Callum

I’m interested in joining a business in the education space. That could be edtech, e-learning, private education, childcare, or any brand focused on students or children.

I’ve been on the Board of Trustees at the Students’ Union for a university in England that was rated Ofsted Outstanding across all three teacher training age groups. The union represents over 14,000 students and runs a commercial portfolio that includes a laundrette chain, a fast food franchise, and a multistorey bar with over £8m in funding. I’ve also helped with recruitment for senior roles, including sitting on panels for a Deputy Vice Chancellor of Education and Students, and for a Students’ Union CEO. I do some work as a Curriculum Validation Consultant and have given strategic input on changes to a BSc Biomedical Science programme.

Outside higher education, I co-founded a non-profit that sends mascots and performers to schools and nurseries. I also started a for-profit mascot brand that raised funding and worked with people who have managed IP like Peppa Pig, Ninja Turtles, and Bluey for clients such as the Sidemen. I was a 25% shareholder in a Michigan business that raised money to build and open a school. Right now, I’m working on co-founding a non-profit focused on sustainable education in primary schools.

I mentor for a Malaysian start-up incubator and have been on advisory panels for two Malaysian edtech start-ups.
