About

Been a coder since 2010, was so cool doing side projects that I won several grants and even got a national recognition from the Nigerian President (top 30 Innovator in Nigeria 2016) not bad for the introverted nerd, huh?😉 … until I had to launch a real startup and discovered that developing a software is just one aspect of running a business. Now I need someone who can handle the business side while I do all the geek stuff 🙂. I’m married with 2 daughters, I’m killing it in Lagos, the economic nerve centre of Africa’s largest economy since 2017, I even wrote a book. Overall, happy, stoked and looking forward to meet a great co founder.

Why does it seem EVERYONE is looking for a CTO?“I think there has to be clarity on what the CTO does. A startup that has an in-house engineering team needs a CTO. A startup that has zero engineering team and outsources their development doesn't need a CTO except they are looking to raise funds, investors look out for a technical co-founder in the team. The challenge though is that most startups are looking to hire a coder, but just slap on the title of CTO. A CTO shouldn't be doing the heavy lifting, hire a programmer instead.”
